A case study: the custom luxury tea tin JIAMU produced for Zheng Shan Tang black tea, with premium finish and airtight structure.

Zheng Shan Tang, the pioneer of high-end Lapsang Souchong (Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong) black tea, required a packaging solution that matches its four-hundred-year heritage. This custom round tin was developed to provide a “triple-lock” freshness system while presenting a regal, sophisticated aesthetic for the premium tea market.
High-quality black tea is sensitive to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can quickly degrade its complex aroma and flavor profile. The client needed a packaging format that not only stands out as a luxury gift but also serves as a high-performance storage vessel. We created a double-lid cylindrical tin that emphasizes the “Ocean & Galaxy” (海晏河清) theme, reflecting the brand’s deep cultural roots.
The “Black & Gold” edition tin has become a hallmark of Zheng Shan Tang’s high-end product line, significantly increasing its gift-market share. Customers appreciated the “thunk” of the high-quality lid fit, which communicates immediate luxury. The brand reported that the tin’s superior sealing properties successfully maintained the tea’s unique “longan” aroma for over 24 months, exceeding standard industry benchmarks.

With a lineage dating back to 1568, Zheng Shan Tang is credited with the creation of the world’s first black tea. By blending traditional craftsmanship with modern quality standards, they continue to lead the global tea industry in producing authentic, high-altitude black teas from the Wuyi Mountains.
